Pressure Washing and Rain
Does pressure washing work if it's raining? This may be a question you've considered when scheduling your next home cleaning. The answer is most often yes, but there are some things to consider first. You can't control the weather, and your free time to have a pressure washing completed is limited. Here are some facts about the effect rain can have on your next pressure washing appointment.
Rain Can Be A Good Thing
This may be a relief to hear if you live in a place that has only a few sunny days. Rain can provide two significant benefits to your pressure washing experience. One is increased visibility and comfort for your technician. The bright sun can produce shadows that make it difficult to see as clearly as if it were an overcast day. This means the results you get from your service will be that much better. Also, the lack of harsh sun can mean it's more comfortable temperature-wise for the one completing your home's cleaning.
The second useful thing rain can do for your pressure washing experience is, if your home was to need cleaning agents applied to any surface, the rain would allow for it to remain on the surface for longer. Without the sun's extreme heat, there is less of a chance that the agents being used to clean your fence, deck, or siding will be dried before they take effect.
Rain Won't Effect The Clean You Get
The high-pressured equipment used to clean the exterior surfaces around your home are able to function in a drizzle without changing the quality of the clean you will receive. The high-pressured stream of water used to blast away debris will not be interfered with by a bit of rain that may simultaneously be occurring.
When Rain Affects Your Pressure Washing
The hard, driving rain is the type of rainy weather that will affect your pressure washing. Not only will you or the technician performing your pressure washing be battling against rain to make sure to get everything, but it may pose more problems than that. When rain is buffeted by the wind, it can pelt your home carrying with is dirt and other debris. It is this hard rain that can be pushed sideways to your surfaces like siding or windows to mark and dot the surface with spots. As this would entirely defeat the purpose of pressure washing, as you'd like your surfaces to be clean, hard rain is not the best time to get your home pressure washed. If it's a sprinkle or a drizzle, though, there's no need to cancel your scheduled pressure washing just for that.
